Graduation night. Each year our students participate in a 'graduation' evening where they, together with their adult mentor, present their project to fellow students, parents and staff from the partner school. The projects are tailored to suit their individual interests and are an important element in the mentoring program. |

For many, our Cert I course in work preparation, run in conjunction with the ECHO Youth Services' mentoring programs, is the most important thing that we do.
It seeks to relate to teenagers who are not flourishing in the normal school environment. The school refers students who are struggling because of social or family issues rather than lack of academic prowess.
These mentoring programs have been running for several years now and have a truly remarkable success rate in turning young lives around. It soon became apparent, given our locality, that an additional education facility in the local area was badly needed - hence the idea of ACYT was born. At the same time it was realised that our ability to reach more teenagers was limited by exactly the same factors thus the idea emerged to train youth workers from all over Victoria (and beyond) with a desire to enter this challenging field.
